The 4-Hour Florida First Time Driver course is a state required course for all new drivers in the state of Florida 18 years or older. If you want to get your driver license you must take the 4-Hour First Time Driver course before getting your restricted or permit license. This course is state approved by Department Highway Safety Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) in Tallahassee, Florida.

If you want to get your driver license you must take the 6-Hour DETS course before getting your restricted or permit license. You will need to visit your local tax collector/DMV office to get your actual restricted license. Fees will need to be paid and parents will need to bring documentation and proofs of address.
If you are over the age of 18, you must take the exam at your local tax collectors office (DMV) or at one of our office locations or any third party location.
